Autumn’s Adventure

Autumn, the Lakeland Terrier puppy, was still getting acclimated to her new home when she decided to go on her first adventure.

Late one night, Autumn took advantage of a door opening and slipped out the front door. Julia, Autumn’s owner, was already fast asleep and had no idea Autumn had escaped when her roommate returned home — and neither did her roommate! Autumn proved to be quite stealthy when she darted out the front door as it was closing!

Waking up to a phone call, voicemail, and text message from AKC Reunite, Julia was frazzled and overwhelmed to hear that Autumn had been found. No one even knew that Autumn was gone!

“Frantic, I called the neighbor who found Autumn (AKC Reunite had texted me her phone number). The neighbor told me Autumn was alright but was muddy, cold, and shaking when she was found. The neighbor gave her a bath and fed her before putting her to sleep” said Julia. “I went over to the neighbor’s house (2 streets away) and picked up my fur baby. She seemed to be in shock but after a full examination, she seemed okay. She means the world to me and I would have been mortified if anything had happened to her. Thank you AKC Reunite, you saved her!”
