Bounder the Eagerly Awaiting Golden

Sometimes dogs that don’t wander can still go missing. Bounder’s owner, Kitty, knows that fact all too well from when her precious dog was taken out of her front yard.

Bounder, a 10-year old Golden Retriever has mastered the skill of obedience and is even certified as a R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dog) and passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen test! Bounder lives on a sheep ranch in Colorado where there are multiple residents and tenants tending to the ranch. With people coming and going often, Bounder always has ample opportunities to explore, yet he chooses to stay by his house.

One day, Bounder was at the end of his driveway waiting for Kitty to come home from work. Before Kitty made it home, a woman driving past the house assumed he was lost and took him away in her car! Thankfully her intentions were pure, and she immediately called the AKC Reunite phone number on Bounder’s collar tag to report Bounder as “lost” – and Kitty and Bounder were quickly reunited.

Even if your pet has a collar-tag on like Bounder, they can still be regarded as lost. If your pet only has a collar tag, they aren’t fully protected. Microchip and enroll your pets with AKC Reunite so if someone takes your pet, regardless of intention, we can help reunite you with your pet ASAP!

Triumphant Tokyo

Being the strong-willed dog that he is, Tokyo was determined to not let his dog run hold him back any longer and, in the end, the secure chain was no match.

Jackson the Golden Retriever

Microchips really do work — just ask Alyssa, whose four legged best-friend ran away and was only reunited with her after his microchip was scanned.

Corporal the German Shepherd

Corporal, the 6-month-old German Shepherd puppy, is still learning to follow commands. But after she ran away, her owners worried she may never come home.
