Cody the Poodle
An open gate was just beckoning for Cody the 10-month-old Poodle to escape. Thankfully, AKC Reunite and some kind strangers were able to bring Cody home in no time.
“I was building a retaining wall in the backyard and left the gate to the backyard open as I was moving cement blocks,” said John, Cody’s owner. “Cody was inside the house at the time, but my wife, not realizing the gate was open, let him out the back door and he disappeared without notice!”
Nearby neighbors spotted Cody, and with the help of some dog treats and gentle coaxing, they were able to collect Cody and call the 1-800 number on his collar tag.
“Thank God for watchful, caring neighbors and AKC Reunite,” said John. “We live near the base of mountains in the far reaches of Scottsdale [where] there are lots of wild coyotes around. If Cody was out on his own much longer, I’m sure he still wouldn’t be with us.”
“We’re thankful for everyone involved,” said John. “The AKC Reunite tag and response to the call made all the difference!”
