Reunited in Tennessee

“Good afternoon to everyone at AKC Reunite. I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere thanks to everyone on your team. I applied to Reunite about 2 years ago, and in that time one of my best friends and teammate Jake has been reunited with me on 5 separate occasions. Jake is a 4-year-old service dog who works in the HABIT service program at The University Of Tennessee Knoxville. Part of his job requires him to be incredibly friendly and outgoing. As a result, he’s been known to wander off while I wash my truck or work around the house. Jake was trained as a search and rescue dog but ended up not finishing the program. I say that to emphasize that he’s extremely obedient and well mannered. Although he occasionally gets bored and likes to meet everyone even when I’m watching him closely. The Reunite program is incredibly fast, helpful, and effective. In the event one of our family is reported lost, the staff can give my contact information and address to whoever locates them. It’s “paws down” one of the best investments for our family’s safety.

Jake adores his work and has made a huge impact in our local community through his services. He works with children who are affected by learning disabilities, PTSD, etc. He is especially skilled in working with people of all ages who have a phobia of dogs for whatever reason. I’m honored to have such a wonderful teammate, and I’ve been blown away seeing how he’s also been able to help autistic children with socialization. Jake is also beginning work with East Tennessee Children’s Hospital since he loves children so much. I’d like to say my sincerest thank you for your work.

You’ve personally made an impact in making sure Jake is brought home safely so he can continue making a difference with his service. I’m more than happy to help spread the word about your incredible services.

Thank you for bringing my partner back home.”  -Nick R., Knoxville, TN
