Mischievous Mack

Only eight-months old, Mack the Domestic Short-Hair, was a bold and curious cat eager to explore. Good thing his owner microchipped and enrolled him with AKC Reunite — providing security and peace of mind when Mack wandered too far.

“Mack slipped out the door and ran off into the night,” said Kat, Mack’s owner. “He was gone for seven days but knowing that he was microchipped really settled my nerves… it was comforting to know that he had up-to-date information with AKC Reunite.”

Kat and her family searched for seven days straight looking for him everywhere. They went door-to-door, emailed neighbors, reported him missing to AKC Reunite, and even made a “snack attack” to capture their furry feline.

Thankfully, all their efforts were rewarded, and Mack was wrangled in a neighbor’s backyard with some enticing treats!

“Mack is socialized enough to allow somebody to take him in and have him scanned, so I knew that he would somehow get back to us,” said Kat. “[Although] his return wasn’t directly related to his enrolled microchip, AKC Reunite gave me such peace of mind while he was gone that all would be ok. He is very happy to be home and we are so glad to have him back!”
