Soli the Sly Brittany Spaniel

Dogs are territorial by nature, so it’s no surprise that mailmen can cause quite a bit of anxiety for our canine friends. Just ask Amber, whose dog Soli chased after the mailman for intruding on their property!

One morning, Amber let out her dogs for a potty break just like she always does, but this time when she called her guys back in, Soli wasn’t there. Apparently, while out using the bathroom, the mailman stopped by, and unbeknownst to her, Soli took off. “I immediately called my husband and we began looking. [We even] posted on all the local Facebook pages and called all the area vet clinics” said Amber.

The next morning when Soli hadn’t returned, dread started to sink in. Thankfully, that feeling was short lived when Amber received a call from AKC Reunite — Soli had been found!

“I contacted the gentleman who found her, and we met up shortly thereafter. The gentleman had picked her up around 8:30 p.m. Friday night as she was running down the middle of the road, 7 miles from my house!” said Amber. “He said she was scared to death and somehow missing her collar. She even slept in bed with her guardian angel that night!”

Saturday morning, Soli’s guardian angel went to an open vet clinic and thanks to Soli’s microchip, we at AKC Reunite were able to connect her with her worried owner!

“I cannot thank AKC Reunite enough for their service and for Soli’s guardian angel for picking her up,” said Amber. “If it wasn’t for her being microchipped, we would never have been reunited!”
