Zeus the Bengal Cat
Named after the god of thunder, Zeus the indoor-only cat, lived up to his powerful name after being on the run for more than 50 days. Thanks to his enrolled microchip, he was reunited with his family and the cosmos was restored!
“Zeus was staying with my parents while I was on a two-week-long work trip,” said his owner Liz, “and somehow got outside. I was so worried I would never see him again,”
For weeks on end, Liz and her parents searched the neighborhoods, posted on social media and in the local newspaper, and created flyers, but Zeus was nowhere to be found.
Thankfully, when Zeus was a kitten, Liz microchipped and enrolled him with AKC Reunite, and what a relief that she did — because more than 50 days after he went missing, they were reunited.
“He was found 27 miles away from my parents’ house and a family took him to a vet to be checked out,” said Liz. “The vet scanned Zeus and gave the family [AKC Reunite’s] number to call and report him found. The next day, [after getting my number from AKC Reunite] they called, and now I have my Zeus back! I am so thankful for this service. Thank you AKC Reunite.”
