Miracles Do Happen!

REUNITED: In a few hours

Nancy S. called us Saturday afternoon to report her sweet Sheltie, Angie, missing.  A squirrel surprised them when on a walk and Angie got loose.  Here is Nancy’s #akcreunited reunion story…. Welcome home, Angie!

“I was walking Angie and my other dog Chance. I had adopted [Angie] approximately 3 months ago and she had come a long way in her fear responses on walks. It was a breezy day so I was wearing gloves. Although we were in a very quiet secluded area, a squirrel on a fence spooked both of us and Angie ran – fast!  I couldn’t hold onto the leash [and she darted away.]

“I called the Rescue, the police and AKC Reunite. Within minutes the police responded that she was spotted running in the middle of a very busy intersection on a very busy Saturday. I drove up there but by that time she was nowhere in sight. This was about noon.

“I figured I would never see her again and just prayed for a miracle.

“At around 4pm, a local emergency veterinarian clinic called saying that a Good Samaritan was there with Angie. [She] and her daughter [were] waiting for me [there] with Angie. They said they were out driving and the daughter got out of the car and managed to catch her. They fed her and brought her to the clinic and the clinic contacted me after locating her via her microchip registered with AKC Reunite. The Rescue and AKC Reunite also sent emails and texts.

I got my miracle!”
