ABOUT INDI MINI-CHIPS:  Because Indi Mini-chips are only 8mm long, they have a smaller antenna than a traditional 12mm microchip. By nature, the smaller antenna has a somewhat shorter read range than a standard-sized microchip. Since the scanner has to be closer to the pet to detect and read a minichip, please consider the following before choosing any minichip:
  • To ensure a microchip is readable for the life of the pet, it is critically important to consider the adult characteristics of the pet when choosing a microchip for a puppy or kitten.
  • The indi minichip is ideal for cats, birds, guinea pigs, ferrets, and dogs with smooth and short coats and thinner skin with no thick skin folds.
  • This product is NOT recommended for horses, pets with dense or long coats, pets with thick folds of skin or in pets with a potential to become obese.
