Classroom Clover

A loose collar was all that Clover, the Siberian Husky, needed to shake loose of her leash and lose her identification! With the help of some Good Samaritans, Clover was safely reunited with her family five hours after she took off.

“On our way to the dog park [with our 4 dogs], Clover’s collar had unknowingly become loose and she slipped right out of it!” said Kim, Clover’s owner. “Panicked, I took the other dogs back inside and searched the neighborhood for a total of 5 hours.”

Unfortunately, without a collar or collar tag, Clover couldn’t be properly identified! Thankfully, her owners were responsible and had Clover microchipped and enrolled in our 24/7 recovery service — so after a few hours on the run, we could help safely reunite her with her family!

“[While on the run,] Clover had the time of her life — she ran to the Catholic Church/Elementary school and spent the day in the classroom with the kids! Where I was later told she was the sweetest, most well-behaved and affectionate dog ever.”

Thankfully, after classes ended, a good Samaritan took Clover to a local veterinary clinic to be scanned for a microchip, and AKC Reunite was able to notify Kim on Clover’s whereabouts!

“I contacted the woman who cared for Clover that day, cried and hugged her because Clover’s never been gone for 5 hours,” said Kim. “I’m so grateful to her for that level of caring and for a program like AKC Reunite for helping our pets to get home safely!
