Dodge the Escape Artist
Appropriately named, Dodge the Bassett Hound, enjoyed getting out of town! Thanks to his microchip enrolled with AKC Reunite, we were able to help bring Dodge home!
“Dodge got out of the house Saturday evening,” said Cole, Dodge’s owner. “Sometime between Saturday night and Monday morning, a good Samaritan [noticed Dodge] and stopped traffic on the highway to scoop up Dodge about 4 miles from our home.”
Thankfully the good Samaritan cared for Dodge until Monday when the vet’s office opened, and Dodge could be scanned for a microchip! Dodge was fed, bathed, and was well taken care of. On Monday morning, Dodge was taken to a local veterinary clinic, scanned for a microchip, and AKC Reunite was able to connect this pup to his owner, Cole!
“Monday morning, prior to going to class, the vet calls me and reports this information to me,” said Cole. “The good Samaritan and I then arranged a phone call and a rendezvous where she delivered him straight to me while assuring, he was in the best of hands so that I had nothing to be anxious about!”
