Lucky Lucy
Lucy the six-year-old Yorkshire Terrier loves to explore, and when she saw an opportunity, Lucy took off. Thankfully, with a little luck, a kind neighbor, and an enrolled microchip, Lucy was home in no time.
“I didn’t even notice Lucy was gone,” said Rodney, Lucy’s owner. “She darted out the door when it was propped open just before my family and I walked down to our boat on the small lake we live on.”
About an hour and forty-five minutes later, Rodney’s phone rang — Parkway Emergency Vet was on the other line, and unbeknownst to Rodney, had scanned Lucy’s microchip after she escaped.
“Lucy walked down the street a few blocks when a good neighbor picked her up and took her to the vet who scanned her,” said Rodney. “The vet office called me as did AKC Reunite… I immediately came ashore and jumped in my pickup [to go get her]. The system really works. Thanks to AKC Reunite!”
