Nala is Home Safe!

Nala the four-year-old Maltipoo, escaped under a fence gate and was missing the entire night. The next day, her worried and concerned owners were contacted with the good news — Nala’s AKC Reunite microchip helped safely reunite them with their lost pup!

“She had gotten out by a small hole under our front gate and she was out the whole night,” said Adriana, Nala’s owner. “I couldn’t sleep, I was sick to my stomach, just thinking about how cold and hungry she might have been.”

From 9 p.m. until about 1:30 p.m. the next day Nala was out cruising the town. Thankfully, Adriana had Nala’s microchip enrolled in AKC Reunite’s 24 hour Recovery Service, which was crucial to bringing Nala home safe!

“The next morning, I was out of the house by 8 a.m. I put up signs all over town, hoping someone would return her,” said Adriana. “I came back home, hopeless and not knowing what to do. Suddenly, I received a call from the Palmdale Animal Care Center, saying someone had brought in Nala and since she had a microchip, they were able to confirm that she was mine! Once I saw her and she saw me, we were both basically jumping with joy. Now, she’s safe and sound!”

Nala’s escapade is a good reminder to check your pet’s microchip enrollment information. Is it up to date with your current contact information and complete with additional emergency contacts?
