Oscar is Home!

REUNITED: In a few hours

Hello,

I received your letter recently and am writing to let you know how HAPPY I am to be reunited with [my cat]  Oscar after he went missing throughout the night recently.

It was very unusual for my 16-month-old kitty with his fancy red, studded collar & bell to stray away and not come home.  By 2am I started to get worried and decided to look for him around the neighborhood, quietly calling out his name.  But I could not find him.   Exhausted, I came back home by 3am and went to bed, thinking he’ll be at my doorstep in a few hours. But again, he was not.

However, by early afternoon my luck had changed when I received an automated phone call from AKC, telling me Oscar had been found.  A young couple found Oscar under their car over four blocks away and decided to take him in to see if he was microchipped.  Thank goodness he was and is now back home.

It wasn’t a week later that I found out why he had wandered aimlessly throughout the night and had gotten lost.  The vet recently told me he is BLIND.  I never knew that and am still in shock.  He could have easily been hit by a car or attacked by a wild animal.  Oscar is currently on medication and is being evaluated to find out what caused his blindness.

So, thank you again for your services and for bringing Oscar back home, whether he will ever see again or not.
