Piper Returns

REUNITED: In 4 weeks

Thank you, Karen E. for sharing Piper the American Long Hair Cat’s amazing homecoming after going missing for 4 weeks from his home in Helena, Montana!

“Piper made it home after 28 days. He was terrified and had been running on roads, [as his] pads [were] blackened and worn down. His collar was missing. He was one of three cats that went missing within a few days in our neighborhood. I suspected a coyote or mountain lion. Now, I think he was trapped and released far from home. It’s amazing that he turned in the right direction and found his way back. The other cats were not so lucky, as of yet.’

“I greatly appreciated the AKC [Reunite lost pet] alerts and got solace from knowing that if someone found him and took him to a shelter or vet, he would find his way back to me because of the ID [on the micro]chip. While I did not need the chip this time, I would not go without one. It brings peace of mind at a very stressful time. I should note that the AKC Reunite person who called me after I screwed up the online missing cat notice was lovely to deal with.”

AKC Reunite is available around the clock, day and night to help whenever your pet goes missing.  Though our service was not directly involved in this incident, we will be here if you need us! Welcome home, Piper!
