If your rescue organization wants to be a part of the reunion process to help lost pets, your Sales Representative can adjust your Enrollment Preferences so you can also be contacted whenever a pet you microchipped goes missing!
If your organization chooses to be part of the pet’s enrollment record as a Primary or Alternate Contact, clearly communicate this in your Adoption Contract. Then, on “gotcha day” show the new pet owner how their pet’s microchip works! Many will be surprised to learn a microchip is not an online directory or a GPS!
