The call from Reunite came in not only to tell me that my dog, Robbie, had been found, but it also informed me that Robbie was missing. Last I had seen my 12-month old [Boston Terrier] puppy, he was in the yard playing. He obviously got separated from the retractable leash hooked to the deck. It was still there, he was not.

As [AKC] Reunite connected me to the people that found him, I had to quickly wrap my head around what could have happened…As I looked around the yard for clues, I saw Amazon packages on my chair. The Amazon truck had obviously been here… I quickly assumed that he had gotten loose at just the right time to chase the Amazon truck down the drive.

On the phone the man explained that they had seen this dog running down the middle of the road. (We live on a State Highway.) They saw a truck miss hitting him by a couple of inches and decided to turn around to get him. He said that when he opened the car door, that Robbie jumped right in. (Sounds just like him.) They were calling from the State Park just down the road and were headed to a nearby event. I was able to get there quickly and there was Robbie with his regular leash still attached, getting attention. He looked so happy, panting, and smiling after his big adventure. It might have been his favorite days yet. It was a quick transfer as they had to get to their event.

I am so grateful to the kind, caring couple and their quick response. They most likely saved Robbie’s life.
