The Adventures of Indie
Don’t let her 80 pounds intimidate you…Indie the English Labrador Retriever is an extremely friendly pup, to both humans and canines! So, when she heard neighborhood children playing and saw an opening in the fence, Indie the investigator was eager to escape and meet some new friends!
Unbeknownst to Indie’s owner, April, a recent storm knocked down a portion of their fence. April had no idea that the fence was compromised — nor that Indie was out exploring!
Thankfully, a good Samaritan called animal control, and they were able to scan between Indie’s shoulder blades for her microchip. In no time at all, AKC Reunite called and emailed April on Indie’s whereabouts and Animal Control even brought Indie back home!
“Indie had a great time visiting/playing with all the neighborhood children until she was returned to us by animal control,” said April. “Indie’s chip was completely responsible for identifying her and getting her home to us! She was not wearing her collar at the time, as I often remove it when they are in our fenced in yard!”
Without a collar or collar tag on, who knows what could’ve happened if Indie’s microchip wasn’t enrolled!? Thankfully, April doesn’t have to worry about that scenario because Indie is back at home safe and sound, and the fence is being restored!
