Koda’s Chip Reunion!

REUNITED: In a few minutes

One afternoon, Koda the Australian Shepherd decided to explore beyond his boundaries, but thanks to his microchip enrolled with AKC Reunite, Koda could be safely reunited!

“Koda is the mastermind of getting out,” said Gabby, Koda’s owner. “Regardless of how big the yard is, how much his tiny humans play with him, or how much he runs around checking on our horses, Koda always wants more. He is an explorer and once he has set his mind to something, he does it!”

This day, Koda decided to make a hole in his fenced-in yard and break free from the safety of his confines, all while his owner Gabby was at work! Thankfully, the nearby Sheriff’s Office was able to corral the wandering canine, scan his microchip, contact AKC Reunite, and then alert Gabby of the good news that Koda was safe.

“I started getting phone calls while I was in a meeting and found out that the phone calls came from AKC Reunite and the sheriff’s office,” recalled Gabby. “The deputy was then able to get my information from his microchip and returned him to me at my home!”

“If Koda wasn’t microchipped, he might’ve been taken to a shelter for hours or days without me knowing where he was. The chip helped us find him quickly, safe and sound!”
