Valentine’s Day Reunion!

REUNITED: In a few minutes

On the afternoon of Valentine’s Day, Nala the Shiba Inu’s owner received a surprising phone call — Nala had been found! Nala’s owner, Kathy, didn’t even know Nala was missing! Thankfully, they were reunited the same day!

“I was unaware that some workmen at our house had left our fence gate open and that our girl had gotten out,” recalled Kathy, Nala’s owner. “I received a call from AKC Reunite letting me know that Nala had been found, but I was so confused as she had been sleeping by my desk most of the morning!”

After searching her home, Kathy could confirm Nala was indeed nowhere to be found! And as it turns out, Nala had escaped through the open gate and had wandered several blocks away before showing up at a good Samaritan’s door!

“Thankfully the family was home, and they called the AKC Reunite number on Nala’s collar tag,” said Kathy. “We were so lucky Nala stopped where she did! If she had crossed one more street, she would have been at the entrance of a large nearby State Park with a lot of active wildlife, and I don’t know if we would have ever found her!”
