Pet Microchip Registration
Your pet’s ID number is the only information stored in your pet’s microchip, so it is very important you immediately register your pet’s microchip with your contact information online, by calling 800-252-7894 or by completing this enrollment form. Pet microchip registration only takes a few moments, but makes a big difference when your pet is lost and every second counts. Once enrolled, your pet’s microchip will be linked to your name, telephone numbers, emergency contacts and other vital information in AKC Reunite’s database. Our 24/7 toll-free PET Line is included with every microchip enrolled with AKC Reunite – with no annual fees or additional fees to speak with a live PET Line expert.
When your pet is found and AKC Reunite is contacted, we immediately send you a text, an email and begin calling the phone numbers you provide us. If we cannot reach you, PET Line experts continue to reach out to your alternate contacts to help reunite you and your pet. Our PET Line recovery experts use sophisticated mapping tools to help pinpoint the location of where your pet was found – whether just around the corner or miles away from home.
What if you move? Or change jobs? Or get a new mobile phone number? Not to worry, you can make updates to your pet’s microchip enrollment information online or by emailing us for no additional charge for as long as you own your pet. Of course, we can help you over the phone, too, but we like to keep our phone lines as open as possible to assist lost pets that may be in danger.
Don’t delay, register your pet’s microchip with no annual or record update fees for as long as you own your pet. We enroll any brand of microchip (including: HomeAgain, Avid, Datamars, 24 Petwatch, PetKey, K9microchips, 911chip, InfoPet) and are a proud participant in the American Animal Hospital Association’s petmicrochiplookup.org. PetMicrochipLookup.org is a trusted resource for animal shelters, rescues and veterinarians to help reunite pet’s with their owners.
