Vincent the Escape Artist

When Vincent the Pembroke Welsh Corgi’s barking went silent for an unusually long time, his owner began to panic and rightfully so! Vincent had escaped his yard! Thanks to AKC Reunite, Vincent was  reunited and back home in record time!

“Vincent had somehow slipped through my gate when I let him outside and I only noticed when his normal barking had stopped for a suspiciously long time,” said Kayla, Vincent’s owner. “As soon as I realized he was gone, I immediately went looking for him… there have been a few times before that he has gotten out one way or another. But, every time in the past, it was more that he got out and ran over to say hi to someone on the walkway… so he was gone maybe two minutes. This last time, he had completely disappeared!”

After wandering around for almost an hour, Kayla’s search was ended abruptly when a text message from AKC Reunite alerted her to Vincent’s whereabouts. Vincent had wandered to a neighbor’s home and after seeing his AKC Reunite collar tag, they notified our 24/7 recovery service hotline!

“The AKC Reunite text included the phone number of the man who had found him, and he was only two blocks away,” said Kayla. “AKC Reunite followed up a moment later [by calling] but I was already on the phone with the man by then arranging to pick up my dog!”

“Thank goodness for AKC Reunite! I am so glad I did the smart thing and [enrolled his microchip] when I brought him home because it’s been a complete life saver. It is such a huge relief knowing that it’s so easy for people to reach out to AKC Reunite and get him home to me.”
