Verify Your Show Veterinarian
Has a Universal Microchip Scanner
Here are some very important questions to ask your veterinarian before every show!
- Have you verified that your scanner reads all microchips currently sold in the US (125, 125 encrypted, 128 and ISO)?
- Does your scanner have fresh/new batteries?
An outdated scanner is a disservice to every animal and owner. Here are some examples of universal scanners that will read all microchips sold in the US:
- AKC Reunite Scanners
- HomeAgain® Universal Worldscan (except version PK1C)
- IMAX 5
“At our health clinics we scan every dog with a universal scanner before each and every test. If a dog does not have a microchip we will chip it before the testing is done so all test results can be verified for that dog”
Jane Wooding, Bethel Connecticut Health Clinic.
