Bolting Bullmastiff!
REUNITED: In 30 minutes
While still getting acclimated to their new neighborhood, Remi the Bullmastiff went on an exploration by herself! With the help of a microchip scan and up-to-date enrollment information, Remi could be reunited within the hour.
“Remi escaped through the fence in our new yard,” recalled Ashton, Remi’s owner. “We are new to the area and a neighbor found her just walking around!”
Being new to the neighborhood, Remi wasn’t recognized. Unfortunately, she was also not wearing her ID tag either since she had been safely confined in the yard. Thankfully, the neighbor who located Remi, immediately took action by taking the wandering canine to a nearby emergency veterinarian!
“We didn’t have a tag on her collar so I was very worried that no one would think to take her to scan her microchip,” said Ashton. “She was gone for less than 30 minutes before I received a notification from AKC Reunite that her microchip had been scanned. I also received a call from the Emergency Veterinarian that our neighbor took her to!”
“I am SO happy that I decided to get her microchipped when she was a puppy. It brings me peace of mind if she ever tried to escape again! Thank you!”
