Bounding Boxer!

REUNITED: In 2 hours

Baxter the eleven year old Boxer never roams-off but one afternoon, he decided to go explore the neighborhood unbeknownst to his owner. Thankfully he was sporting his AKC Reunite collar tag and could be easily reunited within a few hours!

“As an older dog he normally does not wander, and we have him out in the yard with us lots of times,” said Louis, Baxter’s owner. “Last week I was on a phone call about 7:30 in the evening. The temperature was nice so even though it was already dark I walked outside to continue the call and as usual Baxter followed along with me. As I finished the call, I realized that Baxter was nowhere to be seen!”

Louis immediately began searching the yard and the immediate vicinity but Baxter had disappeared! After Louis drove up and down the neighborhood looking, he was forced to resign the search, remaining hopeful someone would find Baxter or that he would find his way home!

“Shortly thereafter I received a text alert from AKC Reunite! Within a total of less than two hours or so, Baxter was back home thanks to the collar tag that the person who found him used to contact AKC Reunite,” said Louis. “Four and a half years ago when we adopted Baxter he was already microchipped, so we decided to update his information with the AKC Reunite program and also purchased at that time an updated collar tag tied to our information as his new owners!”
