Fischer’s Found!

REUNITED: In an hour

While his owner was out of town, Fischer the Pit Bull Mix enjoyed a stay-cation with his best pup-friend’s family! However, he found a way to escape the safety of the friend’s yard. Luckily all it took is a quick microchip scan so he could be reunited!

“Fischer was spending the afternoon with my friend, Liz, and her dog — which is Fischer’s best doggie friend,” recalled Laura, Fischer’s owner. “Fischer likes to stay outside longer than the other dog to lounge in the sun and always sticks around the house. But that day, for whatever reason, he slipped out of Liz’s fenced-in backyard, probably chasing a groundhog around the shed, where there is a small space he can get through!”

As soon as Liz was aware that Fischer was missing, she immediately began searching for Laura’s pup! Thankfully the search was short-lived when Laura who was out of town was notified of the good news, that Fischer had been found!

“I was in Washington D.C. with my mom checking out a few museums when I got a call from a random number that I ignored, figuring it was spam,” said Laura. “But a few minutes later I got a text from AKC Reunite telling me Fischer was picked up by animal control and who to contact! I then got several subsequent calls from AKC Reunite confirming my friend was able to get him from the shelter!”

“Honestly, I didn’t even know Fischer was microchipped, since I rescued him. I guess in the paperwork I signed to adopt him, his chip info got transferred to me. I’m so glad it did because I don’t know how we would have found him otherwise. It definitely would not have been as fast, nor would I have had the great support from AKC Reunite!”
