Leaping Linda!

REUNITED: In a few minutes

While her owners were on vacation in Maui, Linda the English Bulldog took her own getaway and escaped from her yard! Thankfully, only minutes after she disappeared, she was reunited with the help of a good Samaritan and Linda’s AKC Reunite collar tag!

“My dad typically just opens his sliding glass door and lets Linda and our 7-year-old Lab (Abby) go out back to use the bathroom, said Kristin, Linda’s owner. “My dad said that Abby came inside and looked at him with a “something is wrong” look. He went out back and looked around for Linda” but she was nowhere to be found!

Immediately, Kristin’s dad phoned her on vacation to share the unfortunate news that Linda was missing. Before Kristin could even process how she could help find Linda or share a lost pet post to social media, she got a call from AKC Reunite!

“We were just starting to panic when my dad called. Then my phone started ringing and it was AKC Reunite,” recalled Kirstin. “Within minutes, a neighbor down the road had had called to report finding [Linda] and AKC Reunite was calling us to let us know she was safe…From the time my dad called me until my phone was ringing from AKC Reunite was about 2 minutes. I hadn’t had time to even complete my post on the local missing pets Facebook page!”

“The lady from AKC Reunite connected me with the guy that had Linda immediately. Then when I hung up, I also had received a text from AKC Reunite as well that had the phone number of the guy that had Linda! We were so lucky she had her tag on because she isn’t microchipped yet — she is getting fixed this month and they are doing it then…Had we not had this, we would likely be heading to the airport to come search for her!
