Leroy’s Two Year Reunion!

REUNITED: After 2 years!

After slipping out of their back door in May of 2021, Leroy the Coton De Tulear was gone without a trace. But thanks to the help of so many and a microchip enrolled with AKC Reunite, Leroy was reunited two years after he disappeared only a few miles down the road!

On May 6^th, 2021 Leroy left home unbeknownst to his family! After realizing he was missing, his family immediately took action. They searched the nearby neighborhoods, posted on social media, notified our 24/7 Reuniters Helpline, and activated the Lost Pet Alert to broadcast Leroy’s missing status to those in the nearby area. Unfortunately, Leroy was nowhere to be found.

Then, two years later, Leroy’s microchip was scanned and his family was contacted! The call sharing Leroy was safe and found was the shock of a lifetime for his family and friends who spent countless hours, days, and years searching!

“We received an unexpected phone call from Officer Payne, responsible for the Daphne Animal Shelter, stating that she had a dog with a microchip that had my information,” recalled Karen, Leroy’s owner. “We were so surprised and could not believe it, but accepted her offer of bringing the dog to us! And so the best reunion ever happened and Leroy is now back, safe and sound at home thanks to the microchip enrolled with AKC Reunite!”
