Missing Mavrick!

REUNITED: In one day

While Mavrick the Labrador Retriever’s family was away one afternoon, he and his sister pup escaped the safety of their yard! While the other dog was found and safely retuned back home, Mavrick was still missing! Thankfully, with the help of his microchip enrolled with AKC Reunite, Mavrick was soon reunited!

“My husband came home after being gone for a couple of hours and was horrified to see the dogs were gone,” recalled Bernie, Mavrick’s owner. “While he was driving around, he found our female, Labrador Retriever, but no sign of Mavrick!”

The Labrador Retriever duo had just recently lost their collar tags while playing, so neither pet had any sort of visible identification for good Samaritans to readily help them! Thankfully, both pets are microchipped so Bernie’s family remained hopeful that would help them be reunited with Mavrick soon.

“[Later that evening] I received a phone call from our local Animal Shelter saying they had Mavrick and had gotten my contact information from AKC Reunite … [because his microchip was enrolled with their lost pet recovery service],” said Bernie. “It was too late to pick him up that night, but we were able to sleep that night knowing he was safe. Of course, he was super-excited to see his Dad the next morning after his night in ‘jail’”!

“I hope this is the last time we need your service, but it sure was reassuring knowing that he was chipped when he was ‘on the lamb’. We also received text and emails from AKC Reunite telling us where he was located which was so helpful if I didn’t receive the call from the Animal Shelter.
