Recon is Reunited!

REUNITED: In 20 minutes

After Recon the Labrador Retriever had surgery, he decided to turn his time of rest into an afternoon of adventure! Thankfully he was reported found minutes after his departure and with the help of his AKC Reunite collar tag!

“One day the side gate to the yard was accidentally left open and Recon got out,” recalled Jennifer, Recon’s owner. “He has always been very active and recently had surgery. He had been cooped up indoors to prevent surgical complications and had still been wearing his [e-]collar to prevent the stitches from being removed… or any other complications for that matter!”

Jennifer’s family was distraught when they realized Recon was missing, especially since he had just had surgery and needed to be resting! It is a good thing he was wearing his visible pet identification tag so when the good Samaritan spotted Recon, they could immediately contact AKC Reunite to help the sweet pup back home.

“When I received the email [from AKC Reunite] that he had been found I was so relieved,” said Jennifer. “My phone number had changed recently and I did not have it updated, but AKC Reunite was determined to return Recon to his family… Recon has been an amazing addition to our family and is a kind and loving puppy. We have had him since he was 8 weeks old and he has been nothing but a fuzzy bundle of love and happiness. We were so thankful to have him back safely in our arms!”
