Running Ranger!

REUNITED: In 15 minutes

Ranger the Collie has been AKC Reunited twice now after escaping from two different fenced-in yards! Thankfully these reunions happened with the help of up-to-date contact information with AKC Reunite!

“The first time [Ranger escaped] we took him to my cousins while we were at a funeral,” recalled Stefanie, Ranger’s owner. “Ranger figured a way out of the fenced backyard and a lady in the neighborhood saw him wandering, looking a bit nervous, and was able to look at his collar to report him found. I was then texted and called by AKC Reunite, and after the funeral we picked up Ranger.”

The second time Ranger went missing, a fence gate was accidentally left open and Ranger disappeared. By the time Stefanie realized he escaped, he had already been located and AKC Reunite was notified!

“The most recent time, my son had some friends over and they left the back gate open when they left to play basketball at a park,” said Stefanie. “Ranger must have stayed in the yard at first but then wandered out. I then received a text [from AKC Reunite] that he was found! I didn’t even know he was missing — but that is when I saw the backyard gate was left open!

“I called the person who found Ranger wandering about two blocks away [and we were reunited]. Both situations we were alerted quickly and with AKC Reunite’s help, had a happy ending!”
