Scout’s Sneaky Escape!

Scout the German Shepherd found a way to escape the safety of her home when her owner was out of sight! With the help of her AKC Reunite collar tag and our 24/7 Reuniters Helpline, we helped bring Scout back home safely.
“I put Scout in the garage after she had been outside playing and I went to take a shower.,” recalled Kimberly, Scout’s owner. “When I came back to feed her the garage door was open and she was gone!”
Apparently, while Kimberly was showering and getting ready, Scout hit the level button to open the garage door and took off across the highway to visit some furry friends! Thankfully, she didn’t meander too far before she was reported found to AKC Reunite.
“I got on my phone to see where she was because she also has on an Air Tag. But before I could check that, I saw a text from AKC Reunite with the name and number of the person that had her,” said Kimberly. “Scout had actually gotten out before. [She] went to the same house about a 1/4 mile from our house because she remembered they had puppies and went up there to play with them. I gave the little girl $10 for her help. She refused it at first but I told her this probably won’t be the last time!”
