Snags is Home Safe!

REUNITED: In an hour

When a backyard gate was accidentally left open, Snags the mixed-breed canine decided to go off on his own exploration — without his collar on! Thanks to his microchip enrolled with AKC Reunite and a nearby veterinary clinic, Snags could be reunited minutes later.

“I went out for a run one afternoon and was gone about 20-30 minutes from home when I got a text from AKC Reunite,” said Tammye, Snags’ owner. “The text said that someone had found him and took him to a local vet clinic! Before I could even respond, the Vet called me too to let me know they had him and he was ok!”

Unfortunately, the fence gate was left ajar so when Snags went outside through the doggie door, he could easily escape while his owner was away. Thankfully a nice couple saw the wandering canine and took him to a nearby clinic to check for his microchip!

“I was so relieved since I had started panicking because I didn’t even know he was gone,” recalled Tammye. “Plus, he doesn’t have great hearing and I thought, he could have gotten hit by a car. And on top of that he didn’t have his collar on (shame on me)! I ran as fast as I could to get home and get my car and head to pick him up from the Vet and the nice couple who brought him there.”

“I can’t thank AKC Reunite and Crossover Vet more for reaching out to me so quickly — I don’t know what I would have done without them. I could have lost him forever since he didn’t have his collar. I’m so grateful!”
