Sneaky Sully

Dachshunds are known as a breed that loves to dig! One afternoon, Doreen’s six Dachshunds successfully dug out of their fenced-in yard! Thankfully, all pups safely returned. Five of them on their own, and then there was Sully who was reunited with the help of a neighbor!
“Dachshunds are diggers and can create a hole under the fence big enough for them to get out,” said Doreen, Sully’s owner. “That’s what happened that day — all six of my dachshunds got out and while most stayed close to the house, Sully took off and was gone about 5 hours!”
Although a few neighbors reported quick sightings of him and maybe the direction he was traveling in, Doreen could not track him down. Hours after he took off, a neighbor almost hit him on their country road! Thankfully, Sully was safe and the neighbor knew who Sully belong too and took him back to his home!
“I am ever so grateful for good neighbors, and for microchips which would have identified him [had he ended up at a clinic],” said Doreen. “All of my dogs are microchipped for their own safety and mine! As a small hobby breeder, all of my puppies also leave my care with a microchip and a prepaid enrollment” so they can always be protected in their new home!
