Tom’s Nighttime Terror

REUNITED: In 4 hours

On the night of July 4^th, Tom the French Bulldog’s owners were ready to enjoy the holiday fireworks. They planned to have Tom join the fun and made sure he had a secure collar and leash so he would be alongside them the entire time. What they didn’t plan for is Tom being so spooked at his first firework display and doing anything he could to escape in fear — breaking away with the leash in tow! Thankfully, four hours later he was safely reunited!

“Tom is just a puppy and it was his first 4^th of July,” said Amy, Tom’s owner. “But after seeing his first few fireworks, he ripped his leash out of my hands and tore off running! My husband and I searched nonstop for over 4 hours!”

While Tom was on the run, Amy contacted our 24/7 Recovery Service Hotline just after midnight to let us know he was missing. Our recovery coordinators are always standing by — day or night — and we were ready and able to take the call on the busy July 4^th holiday!

Thankfully, after searching for hours, Amy and her husband stumbled upon Tom, with his leash tangled up in the bushes!
